Craftsman Eager 1 Manual 6.75hp
I have a Craftsman 6.75hp Eager 1 self propelled mower that has an oil leak right where the oil fill tube enters the engine block. The Sears model number for parts for the engine is 143.006700. If I look at a diagram of this engine at Sears Parts Online there is an O-ring on the bottom of the oil fill tube as it enters the engine and I suspect this is the cause of the leak. If you look at the diagram reference numbers 305 is the oil fill tube, 306 is the questioned O-ring and 309 is a screw that holds everything in place. The problem comes with access to that screw.
Do you need to remove half of everything above it to access the screw or am I missing something easy? If I take it to Sears for repair I know that they will charge a fortune to replace a 2.00 O-ring. Archpr 4.53 Serial Key. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Some of the later model engines used a metal bracket which bolted-on to the oil pan and holds the filltube in place. Your engine doesn't show as having that. There's a single screw that holds the filltube in place by securing it to the side of the blower housing. Hp Laserjet 1020 Driver For Mac Os X Download on this page. MAKE SURE that screw is secure, and a new 37610 O-ring will correct your problem. The edge of your engine's oil pan would have to machined to accept this bracket. If there's a hole there, the bracket CAN BE ADDED.

If no hole, it cannot be added. T-Man #360591 - 03/26/07 08:27 AM Re: Craftsman 6.75hp Eager 1 with oil leak [] Carpal Tunnel Registered: 09/26/03 Posts: 4105 Loc: PA. T-Man thanks for the reply.
I do not see any bracket or hole at the edge of the oil pan. As you mentioned the only thing that is holding the fill tube in place is the single screw attached to the blower housing. I can feel it but don't know how to get to the screw to remove it without taking a lot of the blower housing apart. Is this the only way to get to this screw?

Tom, Usually, a single 5/16 head fastener is securing the oil filltube to the side of the blower housing. Remove it.and the filltube just slips right out. Occasionally, the scew-in hole in the side of the blower housing can get worn and this fastener won't stay tight. Then.the filltube can move around a bit and oil will leak from the bottom of the tube and O-ring. Later models are now fitted with that a Y-shaped bracket which bolts onto the oil pan edge and holds the filltube down securely into the oil pan preventing leaks. Take 5/16 socket or nutdriver and remove the filltube and the O-ring should be very accessible and easily replaced.
Replacing the filltube is also that simple, of course. T-Man #360593 - 03/31/07 08:15 AM Re: Craftsman 6.75hp Eager 1 with oil leak [] Carpal Tunnel Registered: 09/26/03 Posts: 4105 Loc: PA.
